Doosan is fast becoming a global force in heavy construction equipment. The company’s heavy construction equipment comprises a full range of crawler excavators, wheel excavators, log loaders, material handlers, wheel loaders, articulated dump trucks and attachments.
Excavators, log loaders, material handlers and wheel loaders are manufactured at Doosan factories in Incheon and Gunsan, South Korea, while articulated dump trucks are built at a Doosan factory located in Elnesvagen, Norway. Doosan has attachment factories in North America and in Europe to supply attachments for its excavators, wheel loaders, log loaders and material handlers.
Products are marketed through more than 160 dealerships throughout North America. Doosan services this dealer network from its headquarters in West Fargo, North Dakota. Doosan also has a facility in Suwanee, Georgia, that focuses on service and sales training, as well as a parts distribution center in Chicago, Illinois, for parts support within the United States and Canada. At a facility near Tucson, Arizona, called The Real Operation Center (The ROC), dealers learn about new equipment and equipment owners can perform hands-on testing of Doosan heavy equipment.
Doosan has its own financing provider, Doosan Infracore Financial Solutions, which serves as a single global finance provider for Doosan Infracore machine tool, forklift and construction equipment divisions. For more information, visit DoosanEquipment.com.
Founded in 1896, Doosan is a strong, stable and global company with a long legacy in infrastructure support. Its history in equipment manufacturing began in 1937. Since 2005, Doosan has grown to become the fifth largest construction equipment manufacturer in the world. Many may be surprised to know that Doosan — while a relatively young brand in the North American construction market — has roots in construction and industrial products that go back more than 75 years.
In 2005, Daewoo Heavy Industries was acquired by Doosan Infracore; and in 2007, Doosan successfully completed the acquisition of three Ingersoll Rand business units (including Bobcat), which joined Doosan as Doosan Infracore International. In 2008, Doosan acquired Moxy, adding a line of articulated dump trucks to complement its other heavy construction equipment.
Doosan announced the merger of its Doosan Infracore and Doosan Infracore International businesses in 2010, creating Doosan Infracore Construction Equipment. The two businesses had operated separately as part of Doosan Infracore with Doosan Infracore International consisting of the Bobcat, Portable Power, Montabert and attachments businesses purchased from Ingersoll Rand. Today, Doosan Bobcat North America is the U.S. and Canadian subsidiary of Doosan Bobcat Inc., representing the world-renowned brands of Bobcat® compact equipment, Doosan® construction equipment, Doosan® portable power products and Geith® attachments. Doosan Bobcat is an industry leader in the engineering, manufacturing and marketing of compact and heavy construction equipment, articulated dump trucks, generators, air compressors, lighting systems, light compaction equipment and attachments.
Today, Doosan Construction Equipment is the world’s fourth-largest manufacturer of mid- to large-sized crawler excavators; its brand presence in North America continues to grow.
